Digging Deeper
WID 2006
Who do we want to be?

In November 2007 the Heritage Lottery Fund held a conference, Digging Deeper: Sharing our past, Sharing our future. The conference drew together a range of local, national and international speakers and contributors to look at heritage and what it means for Northern Ireland in the 21st century.

The Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, opened the conference by commending the Heritage Lottery Fund NI for not only conserving heritage but “broadening the general public’s interest in, and appreciation of, our heritage and the different forms heritage can take.” The day’s debate marked the first step in the process.

Further comment, mp3 audio of the keynote speakers, project videos and a full conference summary can be found on the summary and media pages.
